I think this kind of denial is very common regarding taxi refusal in Kolkata Metropolitan Area (KMPA) and the problem is the apathy and indifference of the police.

The traffic police will not help people behave in case of rejection of the taxi and some police officers even start misbehaving, even if people want help but  the human rights of the city and is also degrading.

So my question is what the purpose of the 100th hotline is

When evening a citizen called 100 for help, ask to take a taxi, it is a crime for citizens?

Why traffic police cannot help, not just your duty?

Given the growing number of passengers denied in the city, the West Bengal government earlier warned the taxi driver’s tough measures.

“Strong against taxi drivers who refuse passengers are satisfied, while their unions were asked to terminate their membership,” Transport Minister Madan Mitra. Said here after a meeting with union taxi operators

“Violation of the policy will not be tolerated and violations will be taken to task in such cases,” he said.

In spite of these is no awareness among the taxi drivers and local police.I doubt is anyone of them know the rules.

Cars, taxi guidelines

Transport Minister Madan Mitra said that if the owners and drivers of cars and taxis were in violation of the guidelines today, it is designed and how their license can even be arrested and confiscated their licenses.
